Led and oversaw the redesign of Google's Made w/ Code website experience and Blockly visual coding tool to provide mobile interactivity, responsive design enhancements and a refined UX framework to support future program growth.
In 2014, the Made w/ Code audience was evolving with young millennial girls increasingly using mobile and tablet devices in school and in their free time. This presented a problem because the initial brand website and interactive coding platform they had created was unusable on mobile and lacked touch interactivity for tablet users. Additionally, their design style guide had been designed with a "for-print" focus, hindering their ability to reflect a modern digital-first design aesthetic.
As a creative partner to Google's Brand Studio and Google.org social impact group, out team at 72andSunny was asked to lead the redesign and create a refined design system and style guide. Our team conducted a UX assessment of the existing site and crafted a new mobile-first design system while collaborating with STINK Studio technology partners to oversee the development of a new Blockly visual coding mobile experience.
